First the excess fat around the belly and waist will be removed by liposuction, entering through an incision between both groins, repair of the weakened abdominal muscles and umbilical hernia will be applied. The abdominal wall is tightened by collector sutures placed on the membrane (fascia) on the abdominal wall of the weakened muscles. The new core is sewn on the stretched belly. After removing the excess skin, the skin is sewn into layers. So the slack is removed.

A drain is inserted under the skin so the liquid can get out, this drainage usually is removed after 1 day. All the stitches are soluble, so they don’t need to be removed. After the surgery, a special fitting corset needs to be used for at least 3 weeks. It is allowed to take a bath or shower 2 days after surgery. Special creams promoting the healing needs to be used. The patient is requested not to lean forward for at least 10 days after surgery. The patient needs to walk upright after the 10th day control. The swelling and bruises will decrease over time. But the complete healing and final result will be seen after at least 1 month.
