What is Hollywood Aesthetics?

Face shape is one of the most important criteria of beauty and attractiveness. One of the most important criteria in the golden ratio is that the chin and cheeks form a triangle. Thus, the face looks younger, more attractive and aesthetically pleasing.

Cheek aesthetics or with its technical name “Hollywood Cheek” is the triangulation process performed on faces with angular facial contours and excess fat pads on the cheek.

Hollywood cheek operation is performed by removing excess fat pads on the cheek with a 1 cm incision from the inside of the mouth without leaving any traces outside the face. It can be done under local anesthesia and takes approximately 30 minutes. It is an extremely comfortable operation. In this seemingly simple operation, the experience of the plastic surgeon is critical. The amount of fat to be removed should be determined according to the face shape of the person. The fact that the chin/cheek triangle is created individually and the stitches in the mouth do not disturb the patient after the operation is directly proportional to the experience of the plastic surgeon in this regard.

The most important thing is that this operation gives great results mostly in young women. 20-30 age group, genetically drooping cheeks or excessively rectangular/rounded cheeks look older than their age and have to walk around with a tired expression all the time. What should be done in the post-operative period?

Since there are small stitches in the cheek area in the mouth, liquid foods should be preferred on the first day. The next day, you can gradually switch to normal food. It is necessary to keep the seams clean with mouthwash for the first 3 days. Although the area where the stitches are almost never hurts, patients sometimes forget that there are stitches and these stitches dissolve on their own in a few days. Very slight sensitivity in the cheek area also disappears within a few days. Our patients can return to work even the same day. The actual appearance of the cheek begins to appear within 4 weeks.
